Stone, metal, wood, light.

6. Sýning, Gallerí Kichin, Kling og Bang, Grandagarður 20, 101 Reykjavík

Curated by Skúli Thayer and Silja Rún Högnadóttir

A small beam of light passes through a hole in a metal disk and into a stone. The light is a child of time, moving with it but never able to witness its own passage.

We exist only for a moment before disappearing, until we surface again in another form. The matter that makes us is not new. It is the same material that everything around us has been made from, endlessly broken apart, transformed, and reconstructed.

The stone is older than the light that touches it, yet both are part of the same continuum. We are temporary arrangements of ancient matter, moving through time without being able to see the spectacle of which we are a part.

We are the children of time.
