Uncertain Narratives of Fabricated Pasts consists of five wooden structures, each bearing a concrete relief. The reliefs evoke fabricated pasts—tablet-like surfaces inscribed with unknown messages. Installed around the exhibition area, the structures mark its boundaries, acting as quiet sentinels that define and hold the space. Positioned close to the sea, they are subject to tidal shifts: at high tide, some are partially submerged, while others disappear completely beneath the water.
How do we read the past?
How much do we fabricate, and how much of that fabrication do we acknowledge—both as presenter and as viewer?
When something reaches us from another time, do we treat it as essential knowledge, or as something open to interpretation?Must it be understood, or can it simply be felt?
Which holds greater importance: the story we construct, or the feeling it leaves behind?
