Rjóður Kristaltrjáa //Glade of crystal trees

2024 Head to Head, Kling og bang.

.The piece reflects on society and the structures we build that will outlast us. We mimic life, drawing examples
from organic organisms, but time makes these imitations stand out like a sore thumb. The aluminum structure doesnt rust,
mold, or soften over time, yet it represents a forest. The artificial turf never changes color nor attracts the life that real greenery would. This artwork becomes a meditation on the artificial and the natural, highlighting our desire for permanence in an impermanent world. The sculpture was a part of Head2Head art festival and was on display in Kling&bang gallery.

What remains?
Wat will remain?
Outlast all else.
Degrade after time that wont be measured. Blinded by everything but a glade of crystal trees.

Klukkur // Clocks

2024 Head to Head, Kling og bang

Clocks are three sculptures made out of concrete and found wood. The sculptures were made on a beach in the northern part of Iceland, and its sand was used with cement and sea water in the making of the concrete. While the concrete cured, the waves flooded over them for three weeks, imprinting pictures of themselves on the sculptures' surfaces.
